Kicking up a storm throughout the country’s best festivals in 2013,Moffat Based ‘The iFoundation’ are Scotland Power drop groove driven authentic ‘Lover’s Rock’ Group.This year has seen the band performing at the London O2 Arena after their nomination as best British new group at the British Reggae Industry Awards in February. 'The band’ are tipped for the top in 2013 are one of the most respected and quoted live festival and quality venue group on the circuit this year with the highly rated first album ’Krafted Riddims’’ can be previewed on the following link http://soundcloud.com/ifoundation/sets/the-complete-if8-album-from which boasts over 10,000 downloads this year alone. The iFoundation are a band named and formed in tribute to the 'foundation reggae sound' of seminal artists like Gregory Issacs and Dennis Brown amongst others where the ’I’ prefix describes this 7 piece unit delivering as one single sound , I means all performing as one. In terms of membership, this project is effectively a creative collaboration between Scotland's Reggae all stars; a unit that always welcomes good performers and producers into the family, and whose music is produced and performed to honour and revive the best in a long tradition of roots and culture with creative experience spanning over 30 years in the industry. As a live act, The iFoundation are almost the quintessential festival band; their mixture of soulful and rhythmic musicality, positive attitude, pure stagecraft and sheer 'vibes' marking them out as the perfect accompaniment to an uplifting but relaxed summertime outdoor gig. The group includes singer songwriter and producer Kyle Robertson on Vocals and Guitar ,Leanne Hood on Vocals and Sax, Paula Weir on vocals and backing vocals, Andy Wood on Bass, Martin Walker on Drums, Alex Sakulin on Keyboards bubble and Groove Creation not forgetting the dizzy talents of Hamish Hay on Lead Guitar. The group were proud to be nominated for Best British Band at this year British Reggae Awards in London alongside UB40 & Maxi Priest and have been invited to perform at this years Giants Of Lovers Rock in London's O2 Arena in October as well as the One Love Festival this year too. The iFoundation produce authentic groove driven 'Lover's Rock' Reggae which whilst being dance driven is popular on local and international radio due to its commercial sound which is irregularly compared with UB40. Their sound bristles with powerful bass driven harmonic melodies, defined 80's synth overtones and instinctively performed brass melodies and they specialise in crowd-friendly interactive anthems to involve their audiences in the music. The group have a track record of famous supports and headline shows like the Nottinghill Carnival, The Wickerman Festival, The Red Sails Festival Ireland, Sea Sessions Ireland, Eden Festival, Knockengorroch Festival, The Arches, O2 Academy, Ronnie Scott's London and many other live events throughout the UK and beyond. Lover's Rock is a style of reggae music noted for its romantic sound and content. While love songs had been an important part of reggae since the late 1960s, the style was given a greater focus and a name in London in the mid 1970s. A long history of great shows and media appearances has helped to make 'The Foundation' one of the best loved and respected groups on the UK festival circuit. Working with the likes of Jackie Mittoo, Sugar Minot, Easy All Stars, Sly & Robbie and sharing stages with icons such as The Human League, The Zutons, Steel Pulse,Texas,Gloria Gaynor,The Scissor Sisters, Bad Manners and many more has helped them build a strong fan base.
