Described by Fitzroy Da Buzzboy in the Feb/March 2009 edition of the Soul Survivors Magazine as ‘Lady Day meets Nicolette’, Fae has been vocally trained in Opera and Jazz; and coming from a performing arts & fine art background, she revels in live performances and sharing her music on a grand scale. Drawing from all her musical influences, Fae has idiosyncratically contemporised Jazz music, fusing her song writing with Hiphop, Rare Groove and Soul to produce a unique facet of Neo Jazz. Having toured the London unsigned scene, performing tracks from her largely anticipated debut album, “Mellowdrama”, which has been released via online download: Fae has gained further performance experience from supporting Omar in 2008; to qualifying through to the Regional semi-finals for the Surface Unsigned Festival in 2009 and launching “Mellowdrama”at the Lockside Lounge in Camden. Entering 2010 Fae joined Yarah Bravo on her ‘Good Girls Rarely Make History’ European tour and has progressed further by supporting N’Dambi at London’s prestigious Jazz Café, and Jehst on the Liverpool leg of his UK tour for the 5 Elements Festival & headlining at the Bohanon Soul Club in Berlin. Fae’s music is a journey of socio-political and personal struggles and joy, from the Latin-Jazz smash hit ‘Afrodisiac’, which you can also find on Marc Mac’s ‘R-Solution’ compilation, to the deeply touching ‘Forgotten Ones’ about the genocide in Darfur, a favourite of Dj Speedy’s on Urban Jazz Radio and Dj C_Real on Generation FM, Paris. Currently completing the ‘Faerie in the Cloudz’ EP with CloudFistConceptz & working on her second album, Fae is definitely a firm favourite on the underground scene and ready for mainstream success.
