ACTS PERFORMING AT STEREO ON THE 12^TH OCTOBER 2019

Emiah

Hook orientated Pop/R&B vocalist and songwriter Emiah has recently teamed up with fellow Scottish songwriter and producer Stuart McInnes (Esdaile State) to create a powerhouse duo who have been working together on worldwide collaborations including their November ‘18 release with Nexeri & ConKi - “Adios Amigo” which has received over 700,000 streams and broke into iTunes charts across Europe. 2018 saw the rise of Emiah’s online presence when she smashed out a 10 part "Music Monday" series on YouTube at the beginning of the year. The summer saw her play festivals attended by over 25,000 people, sharing the bill with music legends such as Gabrielle, JAMES and Texas. She then co-wrote and featured on a charity album released to help raise funds for the SSPCA, and finished the year off with an appearance at the SECC, a Christmas tour of Scotland and a support slot with X-factor/The Voice finalist Saara Aalto (Warner Music). 

Not an artist to stay in one lane musically, Emiah has worked on a wide range of genres including Pop, R&B, House, EDM and Hip Hop. Being a huge fan of classic 90’s R&B music and growing up with influences such as Whitney Houston, Usher and Destiny’s Child, Emiah uses these classic sounds and infuses a fresh modern day vibe with infectious melodies and catchy chorus’s that channel the likes of Zara Larsson, Kehlani and Dua Lipa. 2019 got off to a flying start with the release of her single “Fall In Love” (a collaboration with Nexeri, April‘19) receiving over 150,000 streams in it’s first two weeks and is now her most successful single to date with over 450,000 streams on Spotify alone. Next up was her release “Lovin’ Me” (a collaboration with Edward Skera, May’19) which has attained radio play across Europe and been featured on major playlists by Tidal & Sony. To finish the summer with a BANG Emiah has just released her newest hit “Siren” (a collaboration with Panama & Tokyo Project, Sep’19) which is set to make BIG waves. Having supported the likes of Be Charlotte (Sony) Wrabel (RCA, p!nk) Rothwell and The Hoosiers (RCA) this year and having played a showcase at XpoNorth and a slot at this years Belladrum festival, Emiah is definitely on an unstoppable rise!

The Hoojamamas

The Hoojamamas are a 7 piece band of songwriters from Glasgow, Scotland. The band are heavily focused on songwriting, and while displaying both a lyrical and melodic emphasis, have a tendency to lean towards vocal harmony. Emulating the gentle and often heavier sounds of the late 60s/70s era, the band are a unique combination of collectivism and individualism that shines through in every performance. Blending psychedelic introspection and outward facing observations the band, in their music, try to capture and outline the essence of the human experience. The band have just released their debut album, Method of the Matchstick Men, and seem set on a path to deliver more and more as they progress.

Featuring some of the most creative players from the Glasgow and Edinburgh scenes, Nimbus Sextet are a new contemporary jazz group playing original music that spans the jazz & world music spectrum. Marrying Afro-Cuban and other world music influences with post-bop, hip-hop and funk, their music channels a unique rhythmic energy and interlaces this with rich melodic ideas.
